This in-depth course, sponsored by the Harvard Medical School Departments of Anaesthesia and Continuing Education, is intended to provide anesthesia practitioners with a comprehensive review of the most important advances in clinical anesthesiology and each of its major subspecialties. Now in its 35th year, the program will include lectures, panel discussions, and ample time for interaction with faculty.

The course will include basic principles, while emphasizing clinical problems and controversial aspects of patient care. We will continue our popular format from previous years, with intensive all-day programs and evenings free to enjoy Boston.

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

  •  A dynamic and expert faculty of more than 50 outstanding lecturers will present state-of-the-art information and its application to clinical issues. Each session will be followed by a question and answer period, and an extensive syllabus will be provided allowing you to review the material at home.

  • Much of the program will be new this year, including a 'journal club' during which faculty will evaluate key articles from the recent literature and how they should influence your practice.

  • Optional features are an ACLS Re-certification Workshop, a Transesophageal Echocardiography Workshop, and a Tour of the Historic Ether Dome.
