Jason Summerfield, MSW

Internet Strategy & Web Development

As the principal and founder of Human Service solutions, Jason works closely with all clients to develop the overall vision and strategy for each project. By combining creative delivery with solid research-based tactics Jason is able to guide clients toward results that meet their unique needs with real-world appeal.

Mr. Summerfield began his web development career working as a core team member for two of the first nationally successful online retail businesses, later acquired by a fortune 500 company. Since then, Jason has gone on to help senior management teams for organizations of all types successfully build and market effective web sites to meet unique challenges.

Jason earned his MSW from the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work, and completed his BA Phi Beta Kappa with Distinction in Psychology at Boston University.


Al Shaw, MBA

Database & Programming Specialist

Al has been developing web sites since 1994 and is the back-end service specialist for Human Service solutions. He has advanced knowledge of SQL Server 7.0/2000, ASP, HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, Microsoft Access, and several e-commerce software packages. Clients Al has worked with include Oprah Magazine, Warner Brothers recording artists Barenaked Ladies, and the National Association of Social Workers, Massachusetts and Virginia Chapters.

Al has been a partner at Skeey Interactive since 2000. Prior to that, he worked as a Technical Team Lead for NewVantage, Inc. and as a Systems Analyst for AMR Research. Al holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Bryant College and a Master's Degree in Management Information Systems from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.


Greg Robertson
Marketing & Branding Specialist

Although best known in the marketing field for his commercial work with major marketers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Michelin, PepsiCo, Pizza Hut, and Virgin Megastores, over his nearly 20 years in the business Greg Robertson's writing, concept development, and strategic programs have also frequently been directed toward aiding social causes. For children's advocates, the elderly, animal services, and a range of health concerns, he has developed insightful, empathetic, and strategically creative campaigns that have proven their abilities to gather volunteers, raise funds, and clarify purpose.

For causes designed to change societal attitudes - from promoting tolerance in the face of terrorism to fighting drunk driving, smoking, and child abuse -- Greg has a proven ability to grab attention while educating in an intelligent, startling, and even amusing manner that makes people want to remember and repeat the messages.

Having proven his gift for provocative, insightful, and memorable writing with commercial ventures, Greg has also proven that he is more than pleased to apply that gift to the support of important causes.


Rebecca Pineault

Graphic Designer & User Interface Specialist

Rebecca Pineault has been working in the field of design and marketing for over seven years. A believer of result-driven design she has developed world wide marketing campaigns and branding for the computer back-up giant American Power Conversion, as well as website interface designs for Siemens, Fidelity and CIBC Worldmarkets.

In addition to experience in the corporate world, Rebecca also has experience working closely with nonprofit clients such as The Girls Coalition of Greater Boston, Side by Side, Inc and the YMCA to effectively promote their message and mission on the Internet. Rebecca has a flair for helping organizations of all sizes maximize results within their resources.

Rebecca holds a BA in Photographic and Electronic Imaging from Umass Dartmouth.

Ben Mahala
Database and Programming Specialist

Ben Mahala has been working as a web developer and programmer for over 7 years and has worked on projects ranging from large corporate websites to specialty business applications.

Ben has extensive experience with industry standard .Net programming, as well as Ruby on Rails, Perl and Java. Experienced with several leading database platforms including Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL, Ben is able to employ flexible solutions to meet unique client technology needs.

Ben graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a BS in Information and Decision Science, with additional education in project management, software development, and computer science.


William Smith, MA
Developer, DBA, Systems Administrator

Will has been developing web applications and websites since 1998. Will has extensive experience in web application development for the Microsoft platform, including the .Net Framework, VB.Net, C#, VB and VBScript. Will is also an expert in HTML, CSS, XML, XHTML, XSLT, RSS, Podcasting, and Jscript/Javascript scripting. As a DBA, Will has 7 years experience with Microsoft SQL Server (7 and 2000) and MySql. As a Systems Administrator, Will has managed Web server environments using Windows NT, 2000 and 2003.

Through his work with WBUR in Boston Will has been a developer and technical advisor for many projects, including online streaming, podcasting, Content Management Systems, Blogging, WBUR's family of websites and web hosting solutions.

Will holds a Masters degree in psychology from Boston University, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA from Penn State.


Brian T. Flynn, MCSE, CNA

Networking and Hardware Technician

Brian Flynn is a Microsoft Certified System Engineer (TCP/IP & IIS Elect), CNA-Certified Novell Administrator, and holds a Certificate in Network Engineering & Management. Brian specializes in the installation, administration, & troubleshooting of Microsoft Operating Systems and software. He is also experienced in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware components & peripherals.

Brian has led instruction and tech support for Corporate Computer Services, and is an associate computer engineer for the Social Law Library.
